New Grandbaby! and Silas’ Lunch Quote

Sorry for the extended break. We took a trip to North Carolina for Thanksgiving to spend a holiday with ALL our children for the first time in 4 years. Husband and I, our seven children, our son-in-law, our granddaughter and our brand new, just born on November 18th granddaughter!  Meet Norah Jane!baby girl

Isn’t she just beautiful?  The whole family is quite smitten with her. My daughter realized near the end of our visit that the baby had not been put down since her birth. It’s the only way to spoil a baby.

    ********************************************************************************

And now, here we are, in December (how did that happen?), in the middle of Christmas activities. I have a couple of things I’ve been making, but I can’t share them here yet. And a couple of other things I finished and am close to finishing that I’ll try to remember to post soon. In the meantime, I’ll share my conversation with Silas today (he’s three).

    Me: Are you hungry?
    Silas: Yes.
    Me: What do you want?
    Silas: Lunch
Me: Yes, lunch. What do you want for lunch?
    Silas: Food.
    Me: What kind of food?
    Silas: Mustard.
Me: What do you want the mustard on?
    Silas: My plate.
Me: What else do you want on your plate?
    Silas: Food.
Me: Yes, but what kind of food?
Silas: The kind to put mustard on. A sandwich.
Me: A sandwich! Yes! Now we’re getting somewhere. What else do you want on your sandwich?
    Silas: Yummy things.

I couldn’t make this up if I tried.
