rope therapy

ropebasket1 My stitching with rope as a way to focus has been exactly what I needed and didn’t know. I’ve been making, and experimenting, and, well, playing, with the rope.

Playing with shapes and thread colors, and moving into playing with colors through natural dyes – only turmeric and strawberry so far, but I’m so excited about the possibilities.

Some of the baskets are meant for gifts. Others will be used by us – and there are SO many uses!  And I still have so many ideas floating around in my head, inspired by those who started me on this rope making path. There’s this amazing lady, and this one and she’s playing with making rope cuffs – so fun!  Then there’s this one who makes clothesline into works of art – check out her video. And finally, there’s this man, who has sculptural creations as well as baskets and bags of every kind. So much inspiration!

    1. I love, love, love these rope baskets! Haven’t tried them yet myself, but it’s on my list of things to do. The colors turned out great!
