For the last several years, we’ve been wrapping our gifts simply. It started as a whim one year based on the line of the song and wanting to decorate with an old fashioned flair. But since then it’s become part of our tradition – all our gifts are wrapped in brown paper with a bit of colored twine tied around them. Sometimes I’ll tuck a bit of pine into them, but more often than not I leave them plain.
Wrapping this way has brought a little bonus that I didn’t expect – I no longer keep multiple rolls of different types of paper around, and we never have to feel bad about wrapping a man’s birthday gift in something juvenile and girly because that’s all we have on hand.
Simple. Timeless. Easy.
