Waiting for spring

Rufus has been enjoying the weather, but he has an extra layer with all that fluffy fur.  The other cats are beginning to venture outside again, but not on days like today.  Today it dawned cold and icy and continued to be so all day long.   The icicles hanging from the branches and lights were pretty, but honestly, I’m so ready to move on to actual spring.  Most of our snow has melted around the house, but the grill is still buried under a four foot mound, and the secret field still has a lot of snow covering it.

On the bright side, the weather will only continue to improve, and our forecast only has one more day of potential snowfall.  Sophie has asked me to sew a summery dress, but I need to finish up Silas’ quilt first.  And the weather seems to be cooperating with that order of projects.  Warm quilts this week, summery dresses next.  Hopefully the weather will participate with that plan.
