While I’ve been busy working to protect rural Maine from industrial development in the most beautiful parts of our state, scammers have been working to try to steal from unsuspecting people and businesses.
In the last month, I’ve had a large number of scam purchase attempts in my tiny little shop. Over the last few days, that’s escalated to over 150 scam orders. While I’ve been working behind the scenes to build my tiny little shop (plus save my corner of the world, plus homeschool my children, plus drive my children nearly an hour away, to and from dance classes daily), some people somewhere thought it would be fun to steal other people’s credit card information and test purchases on my site. I suppose the goal is to find a card number that works on my website and then use that number for bigger things somewhere else. I don’t know. What I do know is that it has resulted in my having to take my shop offline while I try to figure things out.
If anyone has any solutions, please let me know. I’ll try to work on it in the next couple of weeks. In the meantime, I’ll be at our state capitol, fighting one bill at a time, to keep our state beautiful.
No, the picture has nothing to do with the post, but it’s sweet and brings me joy. I hope to paint her soon, and if I can figure out the shop issue, I’ll offer the painting for sale. Her name is Luna. She is our shyest sheep and rarely comes this close without one of the other sheep near her for emotional support.
