Last week when the Littles asked if they could please sew, I wasn’t too hard pressed to come up with something. A couple of colors of felt, a bit of embroidery floss, a cookie cutter set for the pattern, and we were off stitching away for the afternoon.

Emma had a bit of trouble remembering to put her needle back in the same side it came out, but her stitches were very neat and tidy.  I put Silas’ needle in place for him so all he needed to do was pull it through to the other side. After every stitch he threw his hands in the air and shouted, “I did it!” Sophie was very focused on hers, stacking up her pile of hearts nearby, and then dozing off for a table top nap. Stitching is hard work. 🙂

They’ve been playing with their stitched hearts, using them as little plates for dolls, hide and seek items, and pretend cookies to eat.  They were so proud of their sweet little somethings they made themselves, and very excited to show Papa their hard work when he came home in the evening.

      1. They love making things. It was fun watching Sophie getting sleepier and sleepier with every stitch she took. I think it had a lot to do with her just sitting still that long. 😉
